Plugin testing ## Plugin Installation After purchasing the plugin, you will receive an email with your license key and a link to download the plugin as a zip file. For detailed instructions on how to install a plugin in WordPress from your computer, see [this guide](https://documentation.toret.cz/en/plugin-installation/). Version 2.x of the plugin requires **PHP 8.1 or higher** and WooCommerce 6.7 or higher. On an older PHP version, the plugin deactivates itself after activation and shows a notice in the WordPress admin. If this happens, ask your hosting provider to switch you to a newer PHP version. ## Plugin Activation Once the plugin is installed, open the Smart Emailing for WooCommerce plugin *(Toret plugins > Smart Emailing)*, enter your license key in the corresponding field and click *Verify License (Ověřit licenci)*. ![Toret Smart Emailing plugin - license activation](https://documentation.toret.cz/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Plugin-Toret-Smart-Emailing-%E2%80%93-aktivace-licence.png "Toret Smart Emailing plugin - license activation") ## Plugin Settings After installing and activating the plugin, you need to connect it to Smart Emailing. Like activation, this is done in the plugin *(Toret plugins > Smart Emailing).* Once connected, Smart Emailing can create contacts for your store’s customers. ### Connecting to Smart Emailing - API Key (Api klíč) – enter your Smart Emailing API key. - Login Email (Přihlašovací e-mail) – enter the email address you use to log in to Smart Emailing. First, **save** both fields using the *Save (Uložit)* button, then click *Verify Connection (Ověřit připojení)* at the bottom of the page. The plugin checks that your login credentials are valid. Once verified, the contact lists, purposes and custom fields from your Smart Emailing account are loaded into the settings drop-downs. ![Toret Smart Emailing plugin – API connection](https://documentation.toret.cz/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Plugin-Toret-Smart-Emailing-%E2%80%93-napojeni.png "Toret Smart Emailing plugin – API connection") If you later create a new list, purpose or custom field in Smart Emailing, click *Reload Lists from Smart Emailing (Znovu načíst seznamy ze Smart Emailingu)* to make it appear in the plugin settings. ### Assigning Contacts to Lists The following settings control how WooCommerce and Smart Emailing work together: **List Assignment Mode (Režim přiřazování do seznamů)** – determines which lists a customer’s contact is added to after an order: *Global lists only (Pouze globální seznamy)* – every customer is added to the lists selected below in the *Contact Lists (Seznamy kontaktů)* field. --- *By product — last product with lists wins (Dle produktu — vyhrává poslední produkt se seznamy)* – lists are set on the product (or variation) edit screen. If an order contains multiple products with lists, the lists of the last such product in the order are used. Best suited to stores where customers typically buy one product at a time. --- *All lists of all products in the order (Všechny seznamy všech produktů v objednávce)* – the contact is added to the lists of every product (or variation) in the order. --- --- **Also assign to global “Contact Lists” (Přiřadit zároveň i do globálních „Seznamů kontaktů“)** – an additional option for the *All lists of all products in the order* mode. Besides the product lists, the contact is also added to the lists selected in the *Contact Lists (Seznamy kontaktů)* field. --- **Automatically remove contact from blacklist (Automaticky vyjmout kontakt z blacklistu)** – when enabled, if an order is placed by a contact who is on the Smart Emailing blacklist, the contact is removed from the blacklist and added to an active list. --- **Never resubscribe unsubscribed contacts (Nikdy znovu nepřihlašovat odhlášené kontakty)** – we recommend leaving this enabled. A new order will then not override a contact’s earlier unsubscribe from a Smart Emailing list. --- **Contact Lists (Seznamy kontaktů)** – select one or more lists to add every customer to (hold down Ctrl, or Cmd on a Mac, to select multiple lists). This field is used in the *Global lists only* mode and for the *Also assign to global “Contact Lists”* option; in the other modes it is ignored. --- **Consent Purpose (Účel souhlasu)** – select the purpose of personal data processing. You must first create the purpose in Smart Emailing under *Contacts and Lists → Personal Data Processing Purposes (Kontakty a Seznamy → Účely zpracování osobních údajů)*. --- **Consent Validity (days) (Platnost souhlasu (dny))** – the number of days the consent for the selected purpose remains valid. If you leave this field empty, the default validity set in Smart Emailing is used. --- **Language (Jazyk)** – select the contact’s language (Czech, Slovak or English). --- ![Toret Smart Emailing plugin – list assignment](https://documentation.toret.cz/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Plugin-Toret-Smart-Emailing-%E2%80%93-seznamy-kontaktu-ucel-souhlasu-a-souhlas-v-pokladne.png "Toret Smart Emailing plugin – list assignment") ### Checkout Consent and Contact Sending **Show consent on the checkout page (Zobrazit souhlas na stránce pokladny)** – if unchecked, a contact is created automatically after every order. If checked, the checkout displays your custom text (from the *Consent Text (Text souhlasu)* field) along with a consent checkbox, and the contact is only sent if the customer ticks it. Consent works with both the classic WooCommerce checkout and the block-based checkout. --- **Consent Text (Text souhlasu)** – enter the consent text to display at checkout (e.g. *I agree to receive newsletters*). --- **Pre-check consent? (Předzaškrtnout souhlas?)** – choose whether the consent checkbox at checkout is ticked by default or the customer has to tick it themselves. --- **When to send the contact to Smart Emailing (Kdy odesílat kontakt do Smart Emailingu)** – sets the trigger for sending to Smart Emailing (*On the thank-you page (Na děkovné stránce)* / *When the order is marked as Processing (Při označení objednávky – Zpracovává se)* / *When the order is marked as Completed (Při označení objednávky – Dokončena)*). --- The contact data sent to Smart Emailing includes the customer’s email, first and last name, billing address, phone number and selected language. ![Toret Smart Emailing plugin – checkout consent](https://documentation.toret.cz/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Plugin-Toret-Smart-Emailing-%E2%80%93-souhlas-v-pokladne-1024x165.png "Toret Smart Emailing plugin – checkout consent") ### Double opt-in With double opt-in enabled, the customer receives a confirmation email and the contact is only saved to the list after they click the link in it. **Without confirmation, the contact is not created in Smart Emailing at all.** Leave this option disabled if you already handle confirmation with an automation directly in Smart Emailing – otherwise your customers would receive two confirmation emails. - Use double opt-in (Použít double opt-in) – enables email confirmation of consent. - Confirmation Email ID (ID potvrzovacího e-mailu) – the ID of the confirmation email you created in Smart Emailing. Required for double opt-in. - Sender Email (E-mail odesílatele),Sender Name (Jméno odesílatele),Reply-To Email (E-mail pro odpověď) – optional sender details for the confirmation email. ![Toret Smart Emailing plugin – double opt-in](https://documentation.toret.cz/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Plugin-Toret-Smart-Emailing-%E2%80%93-double-opt-in-1024x247.png "Toret Smart Emailing plugin – double opt-in") ### Custom Fields Along with the contact, the plugin can also send selected order data to **custom fields** in Smart Emailing. In each row, select an order field on the left and, on the right, the Smart Emailing custom field it should be saved to. Empty rows are ignored. Create the custom fields in your Smart Emailing account first, then click *Reload Lists from Smart Emailing (Znovu načíst seznamy ze Smart Emailingu)* in the plugin. The following order data is available: order number, order total, currency, order date, payment method, shipping method, billing company, billing country code and customer note. Make sure the custom field type in Smart Emailing matches the data (e.g. store the price in a number field and the date in a date field). Don’t forget to click *Save (Uložit)* after each change to the settings. ![Toret Smart Emailing plugin – custom fields](https://documentation.toret.cz/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Plugin-Toret-Smart-Emailing-%E2%80%93-vlastni-pole-1024x303.png "Toret Smart Emailing plugin – custom fields") ## Lists for Products and Variations If you use the *By product (Dle produktu)* or *All lists of all products in the order (Všechny seznamy všech produktů v objednávce)* mode, set the lists directly on the product edit screen *(Products (Produkty) > Edit product (Upravit produkt))* in the **Smart Emailing Lists (Smart Emailing seznamy)** panel in the right-hand sidebar: **Smart Emailing Lists (Smart Emailing seznamy)** – select one or more lists that contacts from orders containing this product will be added to. --- **Minimum Quantity (Minimální počet kusů)** – the lists are only applied if the order contains at least this quantity of the product. Leave empty for any quantity. --- ![Toret Smart Emailing plugin – product settings](https://documentation.toret.cz/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Plugin-Toret-Smart-Emailing-%E2%80%93-nastaveni-v-detailu-produktu.png "Toret Smart Emailing plugin – product settings") For variable products, you can also set lists for **each variation individually** – in the *Variations (Varianty)* tab, expand the variation and choose its lists in the *Smart Emailing Lists (overrides product) (Smart Emailing seznamy (přebíjí produkt))* and *Minimum Quantity (Minimální počet kusů)* fields. Variation settings take priority over product settings; a variation with no lists selected uses the lists of its parent product. ## Sending Contacts and Checking Orders Contacts are sent to Smart Emailing in the background, so they don’t slow down order completion. If sending fails (e.g. during a temporary service outage), the plugin automatically retries several times. Each order’s detail screen includes a **Smart Emailing** panel showing which lists the contact was sent to, along with a log of individual attempts (time, result and list). Use the *Resend (Odeslat znovu)* button to send the contact from the order manually – for example, if the order was created before the plugin was set up or if sending failed. Lists the contact has already been sent to are skipped. ![Toret Smart Emailing plugin – order detail panel](https://documentation.toret.cz/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Plugin-Toret-Smart-Emailing-%E2%80%93-nastaveni-v-detailu-objednavky.png "Toret Smart Emailing plugin – order detail panel") In addition to sending contacts automatically, you can use the *Send to Smart Emailing (Odeslat do Smart Emailingu)* bulk action in the orders list – select the orders, choose *Send to Smart Emailing (Odeslat do Smart Emailingu)* from the *Bulk actions (Hromadné akce)* menu and click *Apply (Použít)*.
